My Most Popular Posts from 2017

Facebooktwitterredditpinterestlinkedintumblrmail

I’ve been blogging for about 15 months now. In 2017, I wrote 85 posts. My readership has grown, slowly, but steadily. I am thankful for the opportunity I have to share my thoughts and ideas in this way. At the end of the year, I started looking at the numbers. I’m not usually a numbers kind of person. They’ve never been my strength. But I wanted to see which articles were the most popular posts, to see what worked and what didn’t.

I found that several types of posts seemed to get the most traffic. Those included book reviews and recommendations, quotes, and journaling. These are all things I love, so I plan on posting more on these topics in 2018. I also plan on writing more about the power of positivity, mental health, making the world a better place, and favorite things. Hopefully, I’ll get a chance to travel a bit and can share those experiences as well.

In case you missed some of these popular posts, I’ve included links below. Please read them and share them. Just because 2017 is over doesn’t mean my older posts are out-of-date. They’re still good reads.

My 5 Most Popular Posts From 2017

1. Best Sites For Bullet Journal Supplies and Inspiration

This was one of my first posts in 2017. I have been using bullet journals for almost two years. One search of Instagram will show you how many people use them and the variety of journal styles out there. I wrote several posts about bullet journals last year. You can read them here and here.

2.  11 Books I Keep Recommending

I wrote this in October. In the past three months, it’s had nearly as many views as the bullet journal post. It’s good to know other people like to read as much as I do. This is a list of 11 books that I recommend when asked for a good book to read. If you’re a reader like me, you also might want to read my post about my favorite reads of 2017 and my top to-reads for 2018.

3. 6 Months of Postcrossing: 64 Postcards and Counting

I started Postcrossing in 2016. By March 2017, I sent 80 postcards to more than 25 countries and had received 64 in return.  Read this post to learn more about what Postcrossing is and why I do it. Check out Postcrossing.com if you’re interested in signing up. It’s really an enjoyable and educational hobby.

4. For the Love of Books and Mom: 12 Literary Quotes For Mother’s Day

I love quotes and books, so I’ve created several posts that combine both. Unlike some blogs that just post a quote in written form, I like to created an image for each quote. You can save these images to Pinterest, Tumblr, and Facebook.

5. Literary Romance: 21 Love Quotes From Books

This is one of my personal favorites. From Jane Austen and Shakespeare to the Bronte Sisters and Charles Dickens, authors often write about love. I wrote this for Valentine’s Day. I’m not sure what I can do this year to improve on it, but I’ll give it my best shot. If you love quotes about love, this is a must read.

I’m very much looking forward to 2018, writing new blog posts, hearing from new and current readers, and discovering new ideas, places, and books to write about. Happy New Year to all of you and thank you for reading and sharing.
