12 Inspirational Quotes to Start the New Year Off Right

Many people think it’s a good idea to make New Year’s Resolutions. I quit doing that years ago. Why make a resolution that I’m only going to break and feel bad about in a month or two? Instead, I pick some words of inspiration and encouragement that will hep me in the New Year. I love to collect inspirational quotes. I put them on my bathroom mirror and fill Pinterest boards with them. As an avid bullet journal fan, I write them on my weekly and daily pages for encouragement. I recently discovered Canva.com, where I can dress up my favorite quotes any way I want to and that’s just what I did for this post.

Here are 12 of my favorite inspirational quotes to help you get your New Year started right. My suggestion is to use one a month and keep the good feelings going all year long. Put one on the refrigerator. Tape on to your mirror to see first thing in the morning. Leave one on the back of your door so it is the last thing you see before heading out for your day. Try memorizing one to repeat to yourself when you need a little extra lift.  Pin them all on a Pinterest board or share them on Twitter. Spread the inspiration around.

I saved the best one for last. As a forty-something person, starting this blog was a little intimidating. It had been many years since I wrote regularly or shared my writing with anyone. Most of my adult life has been spent teaching children (mine and others and taking care of my family and household needs. looking at all the social media and technology out there, I sometimes felt I may have been born a little too late to participate. Even now, when I interact with other bloggers, the majority of them are much younger. But this last quote is accurate as well as inspirational. I’m not too old and it’s not too late, and neither are you.

Find your own way and make 2017 your best year ever. I hope these quotes have inspired you to start.
